A Beautiful Tradition in My HometownOne of the most beautiful traditions in Spain takes place in my hometown, A Guarda, during the Corpus Christi festival in June. The night before the festival, local people work hard together in the streets to create huge, colourful carpets on the floor. They use millions of flower petals, coloured salt and plants to make incredible geometric designs. The next morning, a religious parade walks over these wonderful carpets. The atmosphere is very peaceful and the streets smell amazing. In conclusion, I highly recommend visiting A Guarda in June because this floral art is an unforgettable experience for everyone.
The Craziest Festival in SpainLa Tomatina is a world-famous festival that takes place every year on the last Wednesday of August in Buñol, a small town near Valencia. The main event of this festival is a gigantic tomato fight in the streets. At around eleven o'clock in the morning, several large trucks bring tons of ripe tomatoes to the town centre. Then, thousands of people from all over the world start throwing tomatoes at each other for exactly one hour. The streets become completely red and the atmosphere is incredibly lively and funny. To sum up, it is a crowded and messy celebration, but it is a fantastic experience if you enjoy adventure.
The Best Summer CelebrationA Festa do Monte is a traditional celebration held every August in my hometown, A Guarda. It is the most important event of the summer for local people.During the main day of the festival, thousands of people dress in traditional white clothes and walk up to the top of Mount Santa Trega. They carry drums and play loud music all day long. Families and friends sit together on the grass to eat traditional food and drink local wine. The atmosphere is extremely lively and full of joy.In conclusion, I love this festival because it combines nature, music and friendship perfectly. You should definitely try it.
